Understanding the Comprehensive Plan

December 10, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

After 5 years and 10,000+ public comments, the Comprehensive Plan Amendment is finally approved, establishing the legal guidance to the DC Zoning Commission as they consider proposed zoning changes.

Join DCBIA to learn about the major themes in the Comprehensive Plan, why the Plan was amended, and how it can be implemented. At this virtual session, you will learn about DCBIA’s advocacy on the Plan and hear from real estate development industry leaders on the meaningful changes. Changes include updates to the small area plans, affordable housing, housing near transit, FLUM, PDR, racial equity and inclusion requirements, resilience updates, public access to resources, and COVID-19 considerations. Panelists will provide their insights and implementation examples from the architecture/design, land-use, and real estate developer perspectives.

The session will explore the big picture, individual components in the Plan, and what is and what is not in the Plan. Join us to understand how this key land-use document impacts development projects of all sizes and the city’s future growth.

Join us to be a part of what happens next.
