PRESENTATION ON Proposed DC Green Building & Energy Codes Update

November 5, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

DC has issued draft updated Green Building and Energy Codes. These updated codes are intended to support the District’s sustainability plans and commitment to carbon neutrality. Comments on draft code language are due by 5:00 p.m. November 12. Join us to learn what changes are proposed in the new codes and why.

This program has two components:

Part One: The DC Department of Energy & the Environment (DOEE) will review the policy framework shaping the codes, including Sustainable DC, Climate Ready DC and Clean Energy DC, as well as incentives to help finance high-performance buildings. The Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) will engage in discussion about current green and energy codes, lessons learned and suggestions for more efficient code reviews and permitting.

Part Two: Members of the Green and Energy Code development committee will highlight changes in the proposed codes, what motivated the changes and answer questions about the code content or process.

Presented by:

Patrick A. Kunze – GHT Limited, TAG Member
Matt Jacobs, GHT Limited, TAG Member
