DCBIA – DC Water Briefing on Miscellaneous Fees & Charges
November 19, 2018 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
In FY 18, DC Water performed a Miscellaneous Fees and Charges Cost of Service Study – a type of study that had not been conducted since 2011.
Through an outside consultant, DC Water conducted the analysis to take into account the level of fees in comparison to peer utilities in the region. In some cases, no increase was recommended. The DC Water Board of Directors approved the proposed rates on November 1 and will publish proposed rulemaking which the public can comment on until December 17, 2018.
The rates are expected to go into effect on January 18, 2019 after the comment period. DC Water reached out to DCBIA to offer the development community a briefing on the new rates, reason for the changes, and to share the schedule for providing comments. DCBIA will provide comments and members are encouraged to comment individually.
Join us to learn more about the study and the fees from presenters:
- Matthew Brown, Chief Financial Officer, DC Water
- Syed Khalil, Director, Rates and Revenue, DC Water
