DCBIA Community Improvement Day 2026
September 19 @ 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

DCBIA to Host Annual Community Improvement Day: The Legacy Continues!
For over 30 years, DCBIA has made a significant impact on the District by uniting hundreds of real estate industry professionals to volunteer and raise funds to renovate parks and recreation centers across Washington, DC. This collaborative effort, led by teams of design and general contractor volunteers, commences in spring and culminates on one special day in the fall.
This year, we are proud to announce a special “Legacy Refresh” as we return to the East Capitol Urban Farm. Originally built by DCBIA in 2015 as the city’s largest-scale urban farm, we are heading back in partnership with the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and in collaboration with the DC Housing Authority (DCHA) to revitalize this vital ward 7 community asset.
Our 2026 project focuses on “low-impact, high-reward” improvements—transformations that provide immediate results. From restoring the portable NGICP classroom and repairing the storage facilities to refreshing the green infrastructure and trail systems, we are dedicated to ensuring this farm thrives for another decade.
Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to over three decades of community building in Washington, DC. Share this invitation with past volunteers and donors—this is a legacy worth continuing!
