DCBIA / AOBA / DOEE: Energy Benchmarking for Smaller Buildings

July 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join AOBA, DOEE and DCBIA to learn the basics of preparing and submitting your building’s energy benchmarking report through ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®. Why is this important? Currently, all privately-owned buildings over 50,000 gross square feet are required to report energy and water data to the District government on a yearly basis. As mandated under the Clean Energy Omnibus Act of 2018the size threshold of private buildings required to benchmark will be lowering. Starting in 2022, buildings 25,000 square feet and above must submit a benchmarking report (with their calendar year 2021 data). In 2025, buildings 10,000 square feet and above must submit a benchmarking report (with their calendar year 2024 data).
