DCBIA Annual Meeting 2025
The Acceleration Agenda: Unsticking D.C. for a Faster Path to Prosperity
Thursday, November 13, 2025
3:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Station DC | 1323 4th St NE Suite 200 (above Pastis Restaurant)
D.C. is entering a defining chapter for housing, infrastructure, and inclusive growth. With the RENTAL Act and other key policy reforms recently enacted and investment momentum building, the moment calls for bold, immediate execution.
The challenge now is to convert that momentum into acceleration. We must quickly unlock internal hurdles to achieve the speed and scale required for a true economic comeback. Moving beyond measured growth, D.C. can move further and faster by immediately addressing the policy and procedural roadblocks that slow execution. Despite outside challenges, 2026 must be the catalyst year that clears the path to prosperity for all.
The Catalysts: Continued Rivers and Waterfront Revitalization, Sports Anchors and the 25-Year Roadmap
D.C. has secured two generational opportunities that will anchor its future: the revitalization of Capital One Arena / Gallery Place and surrounding Gallery Place neighborhood, and the visionary redevelopment of the RFK Campus Redevelopment. Long expected planning efforts to revitalize Popular Point are also underway. These projects, coupled with the recently launched effort to rewrite the D.C. Comprehensive Plan, present significant opportunities for the development community to revitalize downtown and continue efforts to reconnect the District with its waterfront. This is a transformation that begins now and will shape D.C.’s future for decades.
2026 is D.C.’s big chance to advance economic development and prosperity by lowering regulatory hurdles that leverage development around the city and our rivers to powerfully execute and complement the Mayor’s Growth Agenda.
