Scoring Big through DC Placemaking
February 24 @ 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Join DCBIA and WBC to discuss revitalizing the District through placemaking and strategic approaches of bettering DC’s key real estate assets and communities including: green spaces, utilization of government incentives, office-to-residential conversions, retail support, and new housing.
Our dynamic panel will explore the public and private benefits of creating vibrant and viable 24/7 communities within our City and capitalizing on our beloved DC sports teams and special Capitol events to foster civic pride and create better places to live. Our featured City-wide placemaking communities include Union Market District, Downtown, Union Station, Southwest DC, the Bridge District, and Anacostia. Discussions will focus on strategies for bettering communities in DC, with insights from developers and government officials including a unique federal perspective
The moderator is former GSA Administrator Dan Tangherlini. Dan and Nina Albert (Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development and former GSA official) will provide valuable placemaking insights from the federal perspective that are sure to spark relationship building ideas and concepts between federal agencies and DC’s local initiatives.
As we enter the New Year, placemaking in DC is more relevant than ever. The exciting renovation plans for Capital One Arena is bound to transform the CBD and serve as a catalyst for further growth and development opportunities.
