Briefing on Federal Infrastructure & Jobs Act

February 15, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

On January 31, 2022, the Biden administration released a detailed guidebook for state and localities to use as a framework for the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), a once-in-a-generation investment in United States’ infrastructure, competitiveness, resilience, cybersecurity, and climate change.

Mayor Bowser has already shared that the District is slated to receive over $225 million to support the District of Columbia’s bridge network and it is anticipated based there will be more resources to invest in local and regional road, bridges, tunnels, water, the electric vehicle charging networks, and more.

The new federal law creates jobs and significant business opportunities for private companies specifically by focusing on more public-private partnership procurement opportunities for these projects.  These resources are expected to be incorporated into the Mayor’s FY2023 budget and financial plan which is scheduled to be made public and transmitted to Council by March 16, 2022.

Join DCBIA on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 10:30 AM for a timely briefing from Senior Advisor to Mayor Muriel E. Bowser, Beverly Perry, and the DC Office of Federal & Regional Affairs to learn about the Mayor’s priorities for these resources, how the IIJA funds can be used, and how the real estate development community can engage and partner with the District.’

Who should join: Real estate industry professionals who want to understand the city’s plans for this funding on the construction and development industry
