In 2016, DCBIA began the #buildcommunity movement to transform the recreation and sports activity areas for over 400 families at DC Housing Authority (DCHA) Benning Terrace neighborhood. The effort culminated at last fall’s Community Improvement Day (CID).

DCBIA has completed Phase 1 of the renovation of the Benning Terrace Recreation Center in Ward 7 to include upgrades such as a new kitchen, game & storage areas, painting, renovated stairways and landscaping.

DCHA is currently undergoing stormwater upgrades on the site through this spring, and you are invited to help us complete the transformation at our 25th Annual Community Improvement Day on Saturday, September 23. Save the Date!

Phase 2 will include completion of the outdoor portion of the renovation: walking path, enhance basketball courts & play areas, landscape, improve areas adjacent to the existing football field, and other upgrades.
