How to Import a Calendar Event into your Calendar

Google Calendar
The "Add to Calendar" feature is not directly supported by Google Calendar. Use the following steps to import the event into Google Calendar:

  1. Save .ics file to your computer where you can find it easily
  2. Open Google Calendar
  3. Click the Add down-arrow button at the bottom of the calendar list on the left side of the page, and select Import Calendar
  4. Click Browse and choose the file that contains your event (.ics file), then click Open
  5. Select the Google Calendar where you'd like to import events, then click Import

Other Calendar Applications
The "Add to Calendar" feature is not directly supported by some email/calendar applications. Use the following steps to import the event into our calendar:

Option 1:

  1. Save .ics file to your computer where you can find it easily
  2. Open your calendar application
  3. Depending on your calendar application, the following are basic steps to follow:
  4. Select the import or add event option while in your calendar
  5. Click Browse and choose the file that contains your event (.ics file), then click Open
  6. Select the calendar, or name the calendar, where you'd like to import events, then click Import/Add

Option 2:

  1. Save .ics file to your computer where you can find it easily
  2. Open your email application
  3. Create a new email and attach the .ics file to the email
  4. Send email to appropirate email address (Note: depending on the email application, yourself)
  5. Open the .ics file from the email

iPhone
The "Add to Calendar" feature is not directly supported by iPhone; although it is supported by the Safari browser.

When Using Firefox or Google Chrome Browsers
The "Add to Calendar" feature is not directly supported by certain Internet browsers. Use the following steps to import the event into calendar:

  1. Save .ics file to your computer where you can find it easily
  2. Open your calendar application
  3. Depending on your calendar application, the following are basic steps to follow:
  4. Select the import or add event option while in your calendar
  5. Click Browse and choose the file that contains your event (.ics file), then click Open
  6. Select the calendar, or name the calendar, where you'd like to import events, then click Import/Add
